We are a popular choice for many private parties due to the number of function rooms we have available and our high standard of accommodation and personal service.
Birthdays, christenings, weddings, engagements, graduation, or just a good fun get together with your friends or family; there are many reasons to have a party. The hotel can offer private function rooms, two of which have their own bar, for you to have your own individual space.
Room Hire
The Somerset Suite Ballroom: £250.00 Maximum Capacity 250 dining with dance floor. Bar available upon request. This is our most popular room as it boasts it’s own bar and one of the biggest and best dance floors in the area!
The Olive Tree Restaurant: £150.00 Maximum Capacity 100.
The Wessex Suite: £100.00 Maximum Capacity 50 dining.
These rooms are very much in demand where a party is required but on a budget. This allows guests to buy their own drinks as much or as little as they wish, avoiding the need for a drinks budget.
If a private bar is not a requirement, we also have The Olive Tree with a maximum capacity of 90 guests dining, dance floor space and patio doors leading onto the outside terrace.

Our talented team of Chefs will be happy to provide a bespoke menu for your dining requirement, alternatively hot and cold buffets can be provided on request.
Our top team of catering staff are on-hand to provide the perfect cuisine for your occasion, whether you require a full sit-down meal or a finger buffet. Throughout the event, we will professionally and discreetly layout and serve the food, as well as keep glasses topped up. We however do not allow any outside catering into the hotel. A celebration cake is not a problem.
Evening buffet prices start from £12.95pp up to £23.50pp depending on your selection.
A discounted room hire charge may apply depending on your food selection.

The best thing about holding your event at The Wessex Hotel is that you don’t need to worry about driving home or arranging taxis for your guests and if you are holding your event in the hotel, a £5.00 discount will be applied to any accommodation booked. So everyone can relax and enjoy the event.
